Stunning read。 Emotional and just so darn unputdownable! I just needed to know all of the story! Glamorous locations and so much intrigue。 Unpredictable and a ride from start to finish。 I was in tears within chapters! Highly recommended。 Thank you Netgalley

Thank god this one is finished。 This literally took me an age to read。 Very long winded and dragged on forever。 I’m sure it was breeding chapters as I was reading。 That said, it was a good story but could have been half the length。 The love story was inevitable but didn’t happen until the very end - which I found frustrating!

Good read。 No big surprises。 I guessed the “secret”Should be a Hallmark movie。

The story is about a documentary writer, Clover, who sets out to write a story about Kit a surfer turned snowboarder。These two are enemies due to a past accident in which a fellow surfer and friend was killed。 This is a fast paced story and an excellent holiday read。 Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review。

Midnight in the Snow follows Clover Phillips, a documentary filmmaker。 Clover’s most recent project was about Cory Allbright, a surfer, whose career ended after a tragic accident。 While making her film, Clover becomes close with Cory and his family。 When tragedy strikes again and Cory is found dead, Clover is determined to find answers for his grieving family and for herself。 She turns her attention to Kit Foley - the man she believes is responsible for all the tragedies in Cory’s life and decid Midnight in the Snow follows Clover Phillips, a documentary filmmaker。 Clover’s most recent project was about Cory Allbright, a surfer, whose career ended after a tragic accident。 While making her film, Clover becomes close with Cory and his family。 When tragedy strikes again and Cory is found dead, Clover is determined to find answers for his grieving family and for herself。 She turns her attention to Kit Foley - the man she believes is responsible for all the tragedies in Cory’s life and decides her next documentary will be about him。 I went in this story not knowing what to expect from her Christmas release, but from page one, the story begins to weave。 From the descriptions of the landscapes to the feelings of the characters – Swan crafts her story to keep you reading。 I became invested in Cory’s story and his struggles。 I felt my emotions swirling beneath the surface – joy, sadness, grief, sorrow。 The way that Swan describes Cory’s funeral is so beautiful and touching and has lingered with me。 As Clover begins her investigation into Kit, we are drawn into a world of professional snowboarders and idyllic landscapes。 I don’t know much about this winter sport, but the beauty is you don’t have to。 Swan puts you there watching these professionals practice their sport。 You see the landscapes, feel cold, and celebrate the successes。 You get a glimpse into the culture of snowboarders and comradery。 I love the way the story shifts from the slopes to the bar to the chalet where she stays with her crew to complete her research。 You are given slices of the story through interviews with Kit and those people in his life, simple interactions, and observations from the characters。 We learn about Kit’s life in snippets and start to question whether he is responsible for everything that happened。 We start to question if he really is as bad as we think。 Characters that we think are good are turned and their true selves revealed。I felt like I was on a ride with this story – flipping back and forth what I thought about Kit and connecting together the clues。 This is what is so good about this story – that innate realization that all is not as it appears。 I couldn’t put it down。 Each little teaser of information causing me to read the next chapter and the next。 This story is about a woman trying to find the truth, do the right thing and fight for the underdog。 It becomes a journey through grief, loss, strength and bringing the truth to light。 We also get a dash of romance in some unexpected love stories – this book truly has it all。 Another five-star read for me。 I would not hesitate to pick up anything this author writes。 I truly cannot say enough about this author。 I received a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

This isn't the usual genre I read (I'm a psychological thriller girl) but the cover was so pretty, I fancied giving it a go for the festive period - and I'm glad I did! I was actually sad to finish the book and leave the characters。My only criticism would be that the middle section felt quite long and lacked a bit of pace (it's a hefty book), however I still read the whole thing in a week which is faster than usual。 I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for something light but addictive to read over winter。 。。。more

The research done by Ms Swan on both surfing and snowboarding is evident in this book。 Very well put together and kept me wanting to know more。 A solid 4 stars

One Hell of a roller coaster of emotions in this great new book from Karen Swan。I have read many of her books and have enjoyed her story telling in the past。 This book is no exception except I seem to have got bogged down in the the middle part of the book finding it hard to get past。 However I pushed through and really enjoyed the ending too。It starts off completely compelling and I was desperate to read on。 The characters are really well written, this includes secondary characters too。 The act One Hell of a roller coaster of emotions in this great new book from Karen Swan。I have read many of her books and have enjoyed her story telling in the past。 This book is no exception except I seem to have got bogged down in the the middle part of the book finding it hard to get past。 However I pushed through and really enjoyed the ending too。It starts off completely compelling and I was desperate to read on。 The characters are really well written, this includes secondary characters too。 The action is sublime and I could picture myself in the surf and in the snow。 I feel we needed to know more about Amy's motives to suddenly come out with the things she said after so many years。 However this did not detract from the book at all。A great stand alone book - not a Christmas book really just mainly set in the snow but the enemies to lovers angle was intense。A great read, I have enjoyed the authors style in her previous books and excellent story。No swearing, sex scenes or violence so a great book to gift to friends and family。 。。。more

4。5 That was a great story。 Super interesting about the competitive surfing and snowboarding culture。 Really enjoyable。 Didn’t know where it was going and how it would end。 One of Karen Swan’s better books。 Well done。

I absolutely loved this book right from the beginning to the end。 I read it in 6 days which is the quickest I’ve ever read a book and I’ll definitely be reading it again in the future。 It’s got twists all the way through but ends exactly as you expect it, which is how I love all books ending! Would 100% recommend!

I've read my fair share of promising but ultimately boring chicklit-romance stories set at Christmastime in picturesque surroundings。 Good news: This is not at all one of those。 (I wouldn't have fallen for it without my friends' positive reviews, I do seem to learn from history 。。。) There is quite some depth to this, no really blackhearted villains or perfect heroes but more or less vulnerable and selfish/selfless human beings。 And I never get tired of the enemies-to-lovers trope。 ;) I've read my fair share of promising but ultimately boring chicklit-romance stories set at Christmastime in picturesque surroundings。 Good news: This is not at all one of those。 (I wouldn't have fallen for it without my friends' positive reviews, I do seem to learn from history 。。。) There is quite some depth to this, no really blackhearted villains or perfect heroes but more or less vulnerable and selfish/selfless human beings。 And I never get tired of the enemies-to-lovers trope。 ;) 。。。more

The best thing about a Karen Swan book is her ability to transport you to exotic places and locations to the point you feel like you are part of the setting or you can imagine being there。 This one swept me away to a quaint Austrian town and into the world of competitive snow boarding and documentary making。 The romance aspect was a little far fetched as the main “hero” suffered pretty serious traumas in his life which, in the real world, would make relationships difficult for him thus making th The best thing about a Karen Swan book is her ability to transport you to exotic places and locations to the point you feel like you are part of the setting or you can imagine being there。 This one swept me away to a quaint Austrian town and into the world of competitive snow boarding and documentary making。 The romance aspect was a little far fetched as the main “hero” suffered pretty serious traumas in his life which, in the real world, would make relationships difficult for him thus making the ending not so believable。 I do love her writing style and her characters feel well developed for the most part。 I will keep devouring her books as they have really helped take me away to so many exciting and beautiful venues and that’s what a good book should do after all! 。。。more

I enjoyed this latest Karen Swan book more than some of her recent books which felt like they were lacking in detail and story compared to her earlier books and that they were being churned out to meet publishing schedules。 A welcome return。

My first book by Karen Swan was Christmas at Tiffany’s and I have enjoyed so many of her books since。 I always look forward to her books at Christmas and this one definitely didn’t disappoint。 I especially loved the sports aspect in this book。 If you are looking for a great book make sure to check out one from this author。
